The mission of Beaver Ponds Environmental Education Center is to provide environmental education that gives individuals of all ages the tools and knowledge they need to become better stewards of the earth.
Join us at 11am on Sep. 3rd for a FREE program called "Ephemeral Pond Walk and Talk" about the geology and plants of the Alma/Fairplay area while exploring an ephemeral pond. Kids! Along the way play the Predator and Prey game...you get to “catch” your prey and determine if, as a predator of choice, you’ve eaten enough to survive.
Our next visiting hours are September 3rd from 10am-3pm ~ it is free to visit and staff will teach you about sustainable ag, beaver ecology, native plants, moose, alternative energy and so much more on a guided hands-on tour that takes about an hour. Appropriate for young and old alike!
You can alway make an appointment to visit. Beaver Ponds is located on 70-acres at an elevation of 10,200 feet at Sacramento Creek Ranch near Fairplay, Colorado.
